Among the winners is Fortune, representing Crested Resources Limited, a visionary social enterprise committed to revolutionizing Uganda’s agriculture through mushroom farming.
Why Mushroom Farming?
Mushroom farming presents a unique opportunity for both economic empowerment and environmental sustainability. Oysters and other mushroom varieties are known for their high nutritional value, low cultivation costs, and ability to grow on agricultural waste, making them an accessible venture for rural farmers.
Additionally, mushrooms are increasingly recognized as a viable option to mitigate food insecurity due to their high protein and micronutrient content.
Through its model farms, Fortune aims to:
